Thomas Klicka
I am using Prep3d V 3.2 and I have the download version of FTX Global and the installer always asks for inserting Disc 1, 2 etc ...but I have only the extracted files from the zip.download and this path is not accepted by the installer... from this point I cannot get to the next step of the installation...how can I finish the installation? The same problem occurs when trying to install my FTX Global Vector...
Nick Cooper
Hello and welcome to the forums. The file you downloaded is zipped, ie the files are compressed. In this form, the installer cannot use them, so they have to be unzipped/ decompressed first. You should download a utility such as Winzip, WinRar or 7 zip to do this. Winzip and WinRar have a free trial, 7 zip is freeware. Use the one you choose to unzip/decompress/extract the files in the zip file to a folder of your choice. Once you have done that, run the installer and it will be able to find the files that it needs and work properly.
Thomas Klicka
Hi Nick, thank you for your help! I have unzipped the downloaded files before the installation - there are 9 uncompressed files and 1 .exe in the same folder and from this exe I started the installer - and got the problem. Can it be a problem, that I have all my unzipped OrbX files (also for FTX Vector and openLC Europe) in this folder? I will try it again - which file or folder should I choose in the mask, when the installation program wants me to insert Disc 1 etc? Best regards Thomas
Nick Cooper
If the files are decompressed and the .exe file is in the same folder, you will not see the error message. These are the files as viewed inside the zipped download. This is how they look having been unzipped to the folder outside the zipped file.
