mcdavisf
I installed FTX global base. When i start FSX gold edition and try to fly, it crashes. How can i resolve this?
Nick Cooper
Hello and welcome to the forums. You might try going to C:\Users\Your name\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\FSX, rename the fsx.cfg file to for example fsx.cfg.old and let FSX build another. See if it will start then. mcdavisf
Thanks Nick for the quick response. I get this objectflow.dll coming up. should i allow it?
Nick Cooper
Yes, click on Run and on the next message "Yes", Objectflow will then work. Once you have done that, you will not see the message again.
mcdavisf
Hi Nick, I tried both cases, running Objectflow.dll and not running it. The issue still persists. I have an intel i5 3.2GHZ and AMD radeon graphics card. i have a 64 bit window 7 OS. I do not know if my computer is able to handle it. At this point, i am stuck. I just got OrbX global base, OpenLC and Vector.
Nick Cooper
What is the nature of the crash, do you see any other messages? What does it say in the Windows Error log?
mcdavisf
No errors were logged in the event viewer only information: It tries to load the scenery and after a while, the window just dissappears.
mcdavisf
I also do not see any error messages. that makes it all the more perplexing
mcdavisf
Also, i re-started my PC and tried to run FSX and the issue still persists.
Nick Cooper
FTX Global base is a set of replacement textures and so cannot do anything to a PC that would cause this kind of error. The only time I have seen the sudden disappearance without any message or warning was when SweetFX or similar had been installed but was no longer complete. I suppose that's not the case. Do you have any other addon scenery installed that might be damaged by running the FSX and Acceleration repair program? If not, I would suggest that. It will overwrite your new Global textures but a re-install of that if the problem is solved is quite straightforward.
mcdavisf
No i do not have any add on scenery. this is my first add on. i will try that
mcdavisf
I repaired FSX and it starts now, but i do not know if ORBx libraries are still in effect or if i need to do something. please guide me?
Nick Cooper
Repairing the installation will have overwritten the FTX Global textures, so you need to run that installer again. Then open FTX Central and click on Apply Group.
mcdavisf
I have completed this task and FSX starts up now. My next issue is the rendering. I installed the Vector and LC, and i can see the roads and rivers but the image is very choppy. are there any settings i need to tweak? My GPU is an AMD radeon.
