Installation Problem

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I'm new to ORBX, so I don't know why this is happening, but when I try to hit next after selecting FSX or P3D, it says

" Radio Buttons > On Next, Line 10; Argument 2 must be type string.

Stack Traceback:

1: [Radio Buttons > On Next] Line: 10 in main chunk "

I attached an image, why is this happening? By the way, I'm using CEN4 and CEJ4

thanks for the help

Hello and welcome to the forums.

The message means that the installer cannot find the

registry entry for the simulator that you are trying to install into.

Both of those airports can only be installed to FSX (disk) or

P3D v1.

The installers will be updated in due course.

Hi Nick,

I do have FSX disc installed. Its only in the Program Files (not x86), so it might have not detected it. Is there a workaround for this?

There is a fix, yes.

Go to this page, download the FSX Registry Utility and use it to create registry entries

which point to where your FSX installation is.

You will then be able to install to FSX.

Thanks so much for the help! It went installing, but another problem happened. It said a SimConnect DLL was missing. I don't believe I have the Deluxe Version as I forgot, so should I install the SDK, or is there nothing I can do? There is also another page that says unable to load library.

I would suggest that you try re-installing FSX, there is clearly

quite a bit wrong already, if you had no registry entry and no

installation of the simconnect.dll.

Both of these are installed by the FSX installer.

I can see no point in trying to install add on scenery until the basic

installation is in order.

You might take the opportunity to move the installation out of the

program files folder too.

That is intended to be reserved for 64 bit software and is very well

protected by Windows.
