John Maloney
I have Global Base, Global Vector, Open LC Europe, HD Trees plus Ftx Scotland and England. I had FSX Deluxe SP2 and everything was perfect. I installed Acceleration pack today and now all my scenery is haywire. No roads and land out of place, vehicles in fields etc. Looks horrible as you can see. I suspect my scenery file order has been messed up but I don't know where to start. Help please! Nick Cooper
Hello John, Before installing Acceleration, it is necessary to uninstall SP2. Quote SERVICE PACK 2 INSTALLATION NOTES After you install Service Packs 1 and 2, do not reinstall Service Pack 1. If install SP2 and later purchase Flight Simulator X: Acceleration, you must uninstall SP2 before installing Acceleration. https://www.microsoft.com/Products/Games/FSInsider/downloads/Pages/SP2-EN-ReadMe.aspx Your best solution is to pick a Restore Point before you installed Acceleration and try to return to SP2. Then uninstall SP2 before you attempt to install Acceleration.
John Maloney
I did remove SP2 before installing Acceleration.
Nick Cooper
Still the best advice is to try a restore point before you did that.
John Maloney
Thanks. Does that mean that it's impossible to add Acceleration to an FSX DeLuxe taken back to sp1 without messing up all the Orbx scenery? If I do a restore what then? Nick Cooper
To be honest, I don't know the answer to that question. I have never attempted to install either the service packs or Acceleration except into a clean installation of FSX. I would suspect that uninstalling SP2 did not do your FTX installation any good and that you would probably solve the present problems by re-installing them. John Maloney
I rolled back to FSX SP1 and reinstalled SP2. I'm back to FSX De Luxe SP2. However the scenery is still haywire. No roads but vehicles in fields. Land where there should be rivers. Question is should I remove all scenery and reinstall it and do I remove the FTX Central 2? Is there a recommended way to do this? Thanks for your advice. John
John Maloney
Sorted it out. FTX Scotland and England were to blame. Removed and reinstalled them an everything is back to normal. Might help someone in future.
