Guarddog27
I just switched to FSX:SE and I want to install all my FTX products, global and vector, into FSX:SE. I have followed all instructions down to the T, and I still can not get FTX Base to work in FSX:SE. I have tried the registry fix too. I went in and deleted the registry that Nick posted in another post, and I still cant get it to work. I had used FSX Classic before, but uninstalled it and did a deep scan with Iobit Uninstaller which cleans the registry also. Any help would be appreciated. I can provide and pics in needed of what I have done and or doing.
Nick Cooper
Hello and welcome to the forums. Can you be a bit more specific, for example, does the installer give you an FSX option? Does the installer run? Have you installed the latest libraries?
Guarddog27
it runs, and installs to FSX:SE, but when I load up the FTX Central 2, it asks me for FSX Classic, or FSX:SE. I only have FSE:SE on my computer right now. When I run the registry fix, it says I have both installed. http://content.screencast.com/users/Guarddog27/folders/Jing/media/579b720c-db5c-49d3-b66f-bc2fc7855a72/2016-02-13_1039.png
Nick Cooper
The installer should be installing to FSX and you should be seeing only that choice. The correct registry entry is the one for FSX. You can delete the spurious FSX Steam Edition registry entry if you wish to. HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\Microsoft\DovetailGames Just right click on Dovetail Games and select delete. Then FTX Central will lose its start page and just work for FSX. As you have, I assume, changed the coexistence to 0, your copy of FSX-SE should be using external folders named FSX , so you can delete the FSX-SE ones if found. Next, I would suggest that you download the latest libraries and install them, using the FSX option if you have two.
Guarddog27
So, even though I am only running FSX;SE, I should install it like I am installing Orbx into FSX Classic?
Nick Cooper
Yes. FSX Steam Edition's file structure is exactly the same as that of FSX and when it is the only version installed, it also uses the same registry entries and the same FSX folders in Appdata and Program Data. That's why the FSX installer should be used and why the FSX Steam Edition installer option looks like this.

Guarddog27
I think I may have figured it out, I am using the old 1.0 installer, I am downloading the new 1.4 installer now and giving it a shot.
Guarddog27
Success, using the 1.4 installer worked. Thank you for your help.
