EU Norway - Floating buildings bug and a request

Hi,

I recently purchased EU Norway along with some other products, and installed them on a fresh install of Prepar3d V3.

I've noticed that there are consistently floating buildings in my hometown of Arendal. I made a map where I marked the places it happens most frequently in red:

I read that it can be a problem in FSX/P3D and that clicking ok in the Scenery window fixes it. I haven't been flying long in this simulator, but I haven't really noticed floating buildings anywhere else except in EU Norway.

Could this be a problem with the add-on, or is it strictly a Prepar3d issue?

There are some landmarks currently included in EU Norway from Arendal, notably the tower on Hisøy, radio tower in the town center and the Torungen lighthouse.

I think with two more landmarks, this town would be perfect:

1) The Trinity Church in the town center. It is the second tallest church in Norway, after Nidarosdomen in Trondheim.

2) The Tromøy Bridge. This actually exists in EU Norway, unlike the default scenery. But instead of being a suspension bridge, it is instead flat.

(I've marked them in purple on the map)

Thank you,

Hi there,

the floating houses affect both FSX and P3D and don't have anything to do with FTX Norway as such; see

The issue does tend to occur more frequently with high-resolution terrain mesh files (as we are using for FTX Norway) and in complex terrain, which is probably why it's more frequent in FTX Norway. That being said I've seen blocks of floating autogen houses pretty much anywhere on the sim globe especially when slewing or in fast aircraft.

For each region we have a tight budget that needs to be shared among the different components, custom landmark models being one of them. For example, the Wikipedia page of major bridges in Norway lists more than 80 of which we had the budget to model the 25 most significant (the remainders are placed as generic extrusion bridges. Similarly, we included custom models of the famous Stave churches but didn't have the budget for others.

You might want to check at http://flightsim.no/forum/index.php as they have a community of freeware developers who have been adding further enhancements to FTX Norway.

Cheers, Holger
