anfield ace
FSX always shows a snowy landscape in Jan & Feb in the UK, no matter what weather engine you use, I think it's set within the program, and I don't think it can be altered! Cheers,
TimothyWF
Glad ot see your post as I thought I had a problem. A newcomer to Orbx I have installed both global and EU England and EU Scotland so far. I noticed all the snow around (Liverpool and Edinburgh) and I know there isn't any at the time of writing! I always fly with actual weather so I changed to custom weather and tried the Orbx listed. Number 5 gave me the best view, with a little melting being apparent. Sounds as if we have to live with it. Regards.
bruce e
Orbx scenery always shows snow in the winter , it's not connected to a weather engine, would be nice but it's not. Thats why the sun always shines in the summer in Orbx UK land
Alex Goff
To expand, snow in FSX is determined by two things, a lookup file and precipitation. The lookup table defines what season a specific area should be in, with regions we try to best match it to the average snowfall and elevation, Global uses the default lookup. So even if the weather is very warm, if a tile has been set to winter it will still display snow. If snow begins to fall, then the terrain tiles will begin switching to their snow variants. This can occur at any time of year.
fltsimguy
Old news for an old timer like me.....however, a better question might be the airport showing is green and no snow.....why can't that be fixed to have snow on the background? It looks weird.
Alex Goff
To answer that, we need to know if this is for Global or the England region, and that brings us to needing an order number for support: http://www.orbxsystems.com/forum/topic/1157-important-notice-please-add-your-order-number-to-your-signature-for-support/
