I also changes seasons but that did not seem to work either. I downloaded and installed the HS trees from Steam but I don't know if that's having an effect or not. I am including screen shots. Nick Cooper Posted December 30, 2015 Share Posted December 30, 2015 Hello Peter, This is caused by running FSX in the Direct X 10 preview mode. Please go to the in game Display settings window and un-tick the Direct X 10 preview box. Restart the simulator and the black boxes will have gone. If you feel you must run FSX in the Direct X 10 preview mode, there are two fixes. The first is freeware and can be downloaded from the Avsim File library, file name shader_release_v3.2.3.zip.
