FSX_Steam Scenery.cfg question

Please can one the experts can help me in understanding how FTX Central 2 manipulates the FSX_Steam Scenery.cfg file.

I have quite an extensive set of  Regions and airports as you can see from the list below and when I activate Oceania my Scenery.cfg correctly contains:-

NZ North and South Islands with Milford Sound and Queenstown airports

plus for some reason

FTX_EU_ Scotland with Cardiff and Southampton airports

followed by my Open_LC entries.

If I then use FTX Central 2 to activate Europe and then restart FSX_Steam and the Scenery.cfg has not changed and still shows the New Zealand items with no FTX England or FTX Wales scenery included.

Now I might be getting this completely wrong but I assumed that the Scenery.cfg file would be changed by FTX Central 2 to contain only the Scenery and Airports for the region selected.

The same confusion occurs if I select Pacific Nortwest.

Am I missing something or is FTX carrying out some manipulation of the scenery which I cannot see.

FTX Central only writes to the scenery.cfg file when Apply Group is clicked.

As far as I am aware, there are only two configurations of the scenery.cfg

file.

The first is Global which will include Vector and OpenLC entries if you have

these products and all the FTX airports that have been installed.

The second is any other setting, so Global+Hybrid, Europe, Oceania or North America.

In this case, all the FTX products' scenery library entries are added.

It does appear that your version is not working as it should.

Would you use FTX Central to make a diagnostic report and post the reference

number here and I will take a look at your files.

You seem to have missing from your ORBX\Scripts folder the scenery library

.cfg files for PNW, England and Wales and your FTX_EU_ENG_05_SCENERY

is for some reason named FTX_ENG_05_SCENERY.

The following may work if you have no other errors.

First rename the FTX_ENG_05_SCENERY to FTX_EU_ENG_05_SCENERY.

Then unzip the attached files and copy them into your ORBX\Scripts folder.

Then run FTX Central, select Global and click on Apply Group.

Once you have done that, select Europe, Apply Group and see if the correct scenery

library entries are now added.

Then back to Global, Apply Group and try North America, Apply Group and see if the scenery

library entries are again put back.

Nick,

Sorted - I renamed the file and added the missing .cfg files you provided solved the problem.

As to why they were not their in the first place is a mystery to me as I didn't even know they existed !

So thanks again and Seasons Greetings to you and yours.

Regards, Graham
