jer029
After installing Vector I've noticed grass areas at regional orbx airports appears strange with geometric ridges. I'm running hybrid with vector and all the regionals, although it doesn't seem to matter my settings. I've updated the latest vector patch and then reinstalled the latest library. My diagnostic report number is: ot2c9ef55f8c6fd640b70c42afca00999a What might I try now? Thanks, John Attache
Nick Cooper
Hello John, Thank you for the diagnostic report. From it, I can see that you are using the Direct X preview. If you go to your Display settings page and untick the Direct X 10 preview box, things should look better. I wonder if you have the Direct X 10 fixer also, a couple of lines in your fsx.cfg file suggest that you might have? This is not Vector but grass at the airports. If you can name the one in your picture, I will look and see how mine is.
jer029
Thanks for the quick reply Nick, and sorry about not giving the airport (had it in my first post attempt but I had to rewrite the whole post after trying to figure out how to include a pic directly. Although many in this area around Washington State look this way, this is of airport WN76. Yes, I do have DX10 and use Scenery Fixer. I must use this with my Nvidia Surround and 3-screen wideview setup, otherwise my performance with DX9 is way too poor. I would rather disable the offending scenery files than lose my DX10 setting. jer029
Nick, Thanks for the information related to DX10. Upon checking further I found my DX10 Fixer was not current. The latest version fixed that issue and I'm a happy camper. Now if I can only fix the elevation issues at KBVS (Skagit Regl). Thanks, John
jer029
Now...to finish hijacking my own thread, I've found my problem with KBVS. It turns out that when "Hybrid" is selected in the Vector Configurator, KBVS is one of those airports moved into the right-side "Elevation Disabled". This appears to be incorrect, as once I moved that back to the "enabled" side the elevation problem is corrected. Now all is well (at least in my travels so far). Thanks for the great scenery.
