    Hello,
the mesh anomalies have been fixed by Asobo and the airport now looks like this again.

Make sure that your copy of LDSP is up to date and even if it is, please try verify files.

I checked yesterday but it was still

messed up. Will check again and verify files. Thanks.

  2. Lost track of this topic since I actually avoided LIEO in the sim for a while, but with the summer season starting, I visited again today, getting reminded of that mismatching ILS23 in an ugly way :D

But I'm happy to read here that there's a v2 in the making that most likely will take care of the issue(s) which is good news, since I really love this destination in the sim :)

Hope we're not to far away from a release, looking forward to it.
    Cheers

So I see no issues with the Orbx product.

Your second screenshot illustrates exactly the issue I am having.

You're obviously following the glideslope, but if you look at the PAPIs (and the overall outside picture) you're way too low.
Charts state a 3° path for 23, so following the g/s should give you two white, two red (at least until 100ft AGL or so).

On your third screenshot, you're 33ft AGL and not even close to the threshold (which you commonly should cross at 50ft AGL).

So there IS a discrepancy, as your images also show, and I stand by my opinion that LIEO could need improvement, either by updating the runway layout or somehow replacing the stock ILS with the older one that fitted the shorter runway.

  4. Hi,

I read somewhere that there's a 20% discount for the P3D version of LKPR when you already own the MSFS version.

But not the other way around...?

Edit: Sorry, nevermind, found the way to claim it and was thrown off by the current 20% discount which doesn't get added to the 20% bundle price. So it doesn't really matter...

is there a way in MSFS that we can check what is in the database?

Well, you can check on the world map.
At least there, both IOLB and ISM have the correct frequencies as published.

And again, the ILS in game is showing and working, in line with the AIRAC, (in my case) Fenix systems and charts.
It's - as I suppose - just guiding you to the new runway threshold (as published in the charts) that is just not yet implemented in the scenery by Orbx/Matteo)...

    Hi

Yes it is addressed to you. The reason I ask is because I cannot find a published ILS 23 approach for this airport, therefore I have no frequency or course to test. The published ILS 06 approach works just fine and I see there are other non ILS approaches for 23...so where are you getting your ILS 23 approach from please??

    Hi Doug,

okay, understood. Well, I have both Navigraph (Jeppesen) as well as Aerosoft (LIDO) charts, both showing the same (as wain shows above, see LIDO below).
I always knew OLB in a 05/23 config only, I've actually never seen a 06 approach published (?). Simbrief also only offers 05/23.

    See LIDO charts here:

    Hi

Please post a copy or image of the ILS 23 approach plate you are using, I can't find one.

    Hi,
sorry, is this addressed to me?
What difference does it make what approach chart somebody is using? The ILS in game doesn't care whether you are using LIDO or Jeppesen or whatever, it's just as it is.... You can't fix it by looking at another chart.

Right now, for me, the ILS for 23 puts you way too low, while the ILS for 05 puts you too high.

    Hi,

Probably it could be you are using new chart with longer runway instead of the old with shorter runway ( which is in the sim ). However the ILS/GS it is the stock fs2020 one.

    cheers

I don‘t see how this is a chart issue or in any way related to charts I use.
I just follow the glideslope in the sim and it doesn‘t guide me to the runway. Period. If it is stock MSFS there‘s an obvious discrepancy to your scenery then.

Which could be rooted in the fact that the sim glideslope is the new one and your scenery depicts an older, shorter runway though. That would actually explain it….

So from what I understand, as for now, ILS 23 is not safely usable in your scenery.

Looking forward to an update, OLB has been one of my top most favourite airports for years througout P3D abs MSFS. :)
    Cheers

    Good morning,

I am the developer of Olbia ( LIEO ). I have tried the scenery with the latest fs2020 update and everything it is working fine, nothing is broken. The update with new longer runway and some other improvements will come in the near future, at soon as i will be able to do it. It is not fast as people think do this type of things.

    cheers

    Hi Matteo,
thanks for chiming in, really appreciate it.

Well, I gotta say, I tried once again to approach LIEO just a couple of minutes ago, and there's still something broken with the ILS, at least on my system.

I tried to land on 23, but the g/s seems to lead me into the ground well before I reach the runway threshold.

Please see screenshots attached, following the glideslope I get four red PAPI lights the whole approach (image 1).
On image two, I went visual because the g/s would have just guided me into the trees. I'm now well above the slope but still with four red PAPIs (image 2).

Maybe there's something wrong on my end but this has been reported by others too.
Can you confirm that the ILS works correctly on your system?

    Thanks!

  10. Yet again, I got this CTD int he Geneva area with a terrain.dll error.

From the many forum posts and discussions over the last 2-3 years, I learned that a faulty Orbx landclass in that area seems to be the reason for this (so people say).

Any progress/solution/comments/ideas on this? It's really annoying that this is still an issue after years...

    Thx

  11. If I may chime in here, I also have "out of dedicated memory" errors at LDSP, and there only.

Happens when I'm preparing my flight out. I can klick "OK" and the sim will continue working for whatever reason, but it's strange that it happens only at LDSP-

Of my 7GB available vram, just loading a situation parked at LDSP will show 6.7 GB of vram used.....

    (P3Dv5.2 HF1)

PS: idk if this helps but it would be great to have the option to deactivate some of the scenery features, for example the moving people inside the terminal... I could imagine this being quite a performance influencing thing.
