At my age the speed seems just right - time to observe and enjoy.
It begins on the northeast side heading for the little lake.
Camera's over the lake as we make the first turn.
Just like following a Fokker.
Catch my breath - almost 115 mph in spots.
A celebratory loop over the Loop.

When I was young a 'buckanear' was a heck of price for corn but I digress. This is another of the inimical 'Dom Henry's' freeware - the Blackburn Buccaneer.
Rolling in on 'Bassenthwaite' with 'Derwent water' over the nose.
'Thirlmere'
At the head of 'Ullswater', the community of Glenridding.
Enough of this high fuel flow stuff - we're off to simulate havoc to the 'bad guys'.

Pete - your shots are great in any sim. It's pure talent combined with the ability to present it in a screenshot.

Where are we with this dynamic ASA livery? Looks Californiaish.

Beautiful stuff Pete. Your snow on the ground is so pristine - no people, animal or vehicle tracks.

The regional packs, especially those for XP11, are what got them here. A lot of quick and easy money in the city packs and airports but the regional packs are their cornerstone and, at the risk of repeating myself, they look best in XP11.

Actually, the roadmap sux if you're not into MSFS
A very 'suxcint' reply. Joe Biden want's me to stimulate the economy so Orbx needs to stimulate me if the want any of it.

112 comments and very few naysayers - management will be impressed. Those of us in the 'non MSFS' group not so much but, as has been said, nothing remains the same. The promise of a True Earth Southern Spain leaves me a bit underwhelmed when there are so many multi-requested areas being ignored. One tends to forget that XPlane is no longer a favorite child but like little Oliver in the workhouse - "Please sir, I want some more XP".

How do I change my email in 'Orbx Central'?

It'll be 83 in May and plan to see it. This business of wearing a mask for public appearances has saved quite a bit on razor blades and provides a bit of anonymity. You tend to really notice people who can smile with their eyes.

While I can't begrudge Orbx their apparent success, I also can't rid myself of this feeling that those of us in the "other" sims are bottomed out on the 'to do' list. I will always maintain that their scenery looks best on XP but that's just me.

Can we expect preview shots from Iain and/or Filou?

Bungee the glass around your neck - gives you free hands to open another and let it breathe.

Fizelle and I are 12 years apart - think back to good old school days. If I was a sixth former in secondary school, he'd be in his first year of primary. In those days we were light years apart but those 'lights' are dimming .

IN SPITE OF, OR BECAUSE OF MYSELF I have gone to MSFS. NEARLY 82 AND THE BEGINNINGS OF THE SHAKES, IT HAS SUDDENLY BECOME EASIER to use the simpler version. I admit as an old professional Geographer I love the photogrammetry, old and coarse that it is in MSFS.
But remember Glencoe, never trust a Campbell or a man with his hair parted in the middle.
The transition through 82 is easy, it's 83 that has me concerned

My mother was a Campbell (grandfather born in Argyll). I dated a MacDonald for a couple of years. Her father, a Scot, and my grandfather were not at all happy.
During the troubled times in Scotland after King Billy and Queen Mary succeeded her father James (now the King across the water), the clans were of divided loyalties. The Campbells of Argyle leaned towards the throne and were thus considered 'persona non grata' among those still loyal to the Stuart family. Much blood was shed and Campbells continue to have this historic stigma in parts of Scotland.

Oh dear, and some of my best friends are POMS, and I also like a couple of Campbells.
I'd almost forgotten about Campbells, Glencoe etc.

Now that has got me interested - and I do agree TE has always been been better with XP - but somehow -
I couldn't get XP to give a picture with 4K - but since I had to revert to HD (1080) for P3D and MSFS - that is no longer Important
These shots were very good - 2 questions - what is the RAM of your video card - was that the standard Baron in XP
I'm using a GTX1660ti with 6GB vram and an i5-9600k - don' know nuthin' 'bout no Baron - that was a Turbo Otter.

So disappointed with MSFS - and the move across to P3D V5 is not to my liking in the scenery front
for low and slow - that I am actually contemplating reinstalling the new version of XP.
I realize Vulcan etc are a performance upgrade - but how have the sceneries (Orbx TE) come through
the change - and the same question with the aircraft - EG - I have the V flyte stable of A/C and the TE series
If you swing over to the 'screenshot' thread I've posted a couple of Vulkan shots, one featuring the Vflyte turbo Otter. From what I've seen so far the rendering is noticeably improved and, though my frames are locked at 30, it's smooth as glass. I have always thought that XP11 presents the Orbx TE scenery at its best.
