This probably won't count but, I got a five minute "ride" in a Link Trainer  back in 1949.  It was a part of a Naval Air Station exhibit at the Monterey (CA) County Fair. All I can remember is that it was painted blue on the outside and it was really dark on the inside. Great stuff for a six-year old kid...............Doug

Five minutes was enough to convince me to forget the whole thing.

Unfortunately they wouldn't let me out.

Having secured the necessary quorum and hearing no objections, we, the Old Coots' Club officially accept the Honorable Nick Cooper as an Honorary Member. Hip hip hooray!

I haven't seen him formally deliver his acceptance speech yet.

Nor has he announced that he was running for any position within this shady and senile gathering.

Political corruption is what is going on here.

Call for an investigation, Nick, before it's too late.

  3. How come you geezers never talk about anything besides your dementia ????

What's the matter with girls and stuff.....or maybe even incontinence ?

By the way....speaking of dementia, I've reanimated an old Meigs .bgl file that creates an ILS for both 18 and 36 for the ORBX Meigs incarnation.

alignment is a wee bit off but it shows on both map and GPS.

If anyone is interested we can get together and I'll give you the ancient file and show you how to install it.

    :D

I will do that..The Vietnam war was a nasty, dirty one, and anyone that served and lived  through it should be cared for forever in my opinion....Sadly the US Govt did not see it that way. Teecee.

I never did really find out exactly what was going on.

Actually, no one I knew ever did either.

Need to know protocol, I suppose.......................

Nice to have those memories though isn't it..I never got more than a few hours flying RL, I could never afford it, but for all that, I still have those few hours stored away in my memory. Teecee.

Never really thought of it that way.

Probably because they were paying me to do it.

One of the memories I have is the hole in my windshield during my "tour" in Vietnam in 1967. An antiaircraft gift that would have gone on giving had it not failed to detonate and just glanced off  thanks probably to bad quality control in China.

See........I made the "old coots " club through pure luck.

And then there was............ oh!...... just forget it.

If you like old war stories you can just google up "covey fac".
