Hi guys
I just bought the WF Scenery VHHH scenery today via Orbx. It was mentioned on the WF scenery website and also in FSElite that in August 2022 WF had updated the product and included the 3rd runay. However when I load the airport (installed today and also verified again) I only get a construction site and no 3rd runway.
Any ideas?
Kind regards
Daniel
I bought my version elsewhere but it came with a v1.2 patch that added the new runway. Can you see this anywhere in your downloads or instructions?

If there isn't an immediate need to upgrade, why not see what the 4070 12Gb brings later in the year (hopefully) or alternatively its effect on 3XXX range prices as they seek to clear stock before release. You might find yourself with more buying power.

When you say you have no other addons, does that include Orbx Libraries? If so, that may be your problem, download it and re-sync files.

Excellent, brings make memories...

Hello Nick,
thanks for testing it on your setup! I'm sorry that I first assumed your scenery is the culprit. Today I've tested a bit more and found out even in the stock P3D scenery (completely without Orbx NZQN) I get the exact same behavior with stutters on the runway.
I'd like to try if it's possible to remove the stock NZQN and only using Orbx NZQN.
Do you know or can help me what files exactly I have to disable in the stock scenery folders of P3D to remove the default airport? Unfortunately I have absolutely no idea and talent how scenery developing works and for which file(s) I have to look to disable.
Would be really thankful for help, even when it's no issue on your side.
I'd like to mention and clarify again for other readers that the Orbx NZQN scenery is absolutely fine so far and it was my mistake to blame the issue on this scenery by Orbx. Sorry for that.
====
EDIT:
I figured out through a software called 'Airport Design Editor' that the NZQN airport is in a stock P3D .bgl-file named 'APX92480.bgl' under ...\Prepar3D v5\scenery\1106\scenery. But still have no clue how to remove this stock airport, so help would be great.
I think simply deleting the stock file is no good idea because I heard these stock .bgl-files contain more than one airport usually.
Thanks in advance!
Regards
Just go to that folder and change that file name to APX92480.bgl.off. This is not recommended though as it may not contain just the airport and you will lose all functionality associated with that file. Be reassured that NZQN works fine with or without Orbx so it is fixable. Try a system repair in P3D?

Hi, I have an issue regarding your website (orbxdirect.com). A lot of my friends have the same problem (tested). Several (if not more) tickets have been sent to you regarding this issue. Nothing has been fixed these few days and the promotion is ending today (and I was going to buy some airports, but I can't..) After trying to purchase a products (Orbx ENTO, Orbx LYNI, AmSim UGSB for MSFS) as a gift the website freezes and upon trying to reload it, comes up with error 504. VPN, deleting cookies, incognito mode or using another device or network don't help. I've talked to some of my friends in other countries and they also have this issue so it's an issue on your end. On top of this I'm unable to check out using Orbx Central (logging-in works). I am writing this here so that more people know about the problem, maybe you (Users) can help… I am really embarrassed by your attitude.
it seems to be working fine here in Australia, by the way, it is the weekend...

Now that is outstanding. Two forum members on the same bridge at the same time. Though... it was quite crowded, no wonder we did not recognize the other flight enthusiast there...
Sorry mate, I was paying attention to the Globemaster going over me at a very low altitude, not people watching

We were really surprised when we witnessed that action in 2019.
How weird, we were on that bridge watching the action at Riverfire in 2019 as well!

I'm newbie in this kind of software (AI traffic) and my questions may be dumb but need to ask anyway.
With any of these programs will I see any aircraft with its virtual airline? Like someone connected as QFA or AAL or BAW...?
Will I need to have these AI traffic flying everywhere (unrealistic in simulation but...) or is it possible not to?
Tks
The IAG server is temporarily down, but shall hopefully be back to normal soon.
The flightplans are derived from real world schedules, so you will see plenty of QFA at Sydney, AAL at Dallas Fort Worth etc, and nothing unrealistic . I have about 1400 flightplans installed but if you only fly to certain areas you can just install the flightplans that interest you.

Thank you Ian - at least it helps to protect from bush fires...
Oh yes, floods this month, then cyclones, fires will be later in the year when it all dries out.....

Nice shots! Your weather is very accurate Gerold, we've had plenty of rain here in Queensland over recent days.

Don't forget to check out the Orbx Murray Island freeware whilst you're in that neck of the woods.

Hi Ian,
Difficult to know exactly what to suggest but here's my experience.
There is a CP option to use 2k textures for the city - using that and setting the texture resolution to medium in the sim (1024) I'm getting about 5GB out of 7.1 with the cityscape, AUv2 and Fly Tampa under circumstances where I'm getting about 4GB usage without the Cityscape (fair weather with the Bell Jetranger helicopter).
Setting texture resolution to High (2048) in the sim I'm getting about 5.5GB with the cityscape (but at times creeping towards 6).
I have an 8GB card and am using P3D v5.3.
All the best,
John
Thanks for the advice John, that 2K option may well work.
cheers
Ian

Yes, that is after adding Sydney Cityscape....before adding with the same settings and aircraft it was at 5.5GB used.
H'mm, I might need to hold off then. Thanks for your assistance Doug.

Hi Ian
Yes my VRAM usage is 7GB out of 11GB, using the A2A 180 Cherokee.
Thanks Doug, is that after adding Sydney Cityscape? Any idea what it was before? I manage Australia v2 & Fly Tampa Sydney okay with my settings.

Could someone who has added the new Sydney Cityscape to existing Australia V2 & Fly Tampa Sydney please advise what your VRAM usage looks like? I don't use study level aircraft but only have a 6Gb GPU so need to be moderate in what I install.
cheers

I wonder why he did that approach - since the windsock at the end of the runway shows zilch wind - and so why did he not do a straight in
approach and landing - saving time and Juice ?
The wind at ground level might be doing something very different to that at 2-3000ft, especially in the mountains

When you say something is wrong, what exactly are you encountering? Are the airports appearing , but with perhaps elevation issues, or are you not seeing anything other than default airports/scenery? Can you give specific product examples?

Advice please. I've been with P3D 4.5 for a while now, exclusively VR with Rift S. But I'm now being tempted by P3D 5.2 in view of all the positive comments. I'd really appreciate hearing from anyone who has - or is - moving from 4.5 to 5.2, with Rift S...worth the move?
Thanks, Don.
I don't use VR but am also considering the move from 4.5 to 5.2 and have the same graphics card as you so shall monitor this thread with interest. I am inclined to just give it a go, without uninstalling 4.5 just yet.

The Aussies will get this. While getting YOCB Orchid Beach going, I discovered an "Easter Egg" in the scenery, a bloody Dingo with a baby in its mouth !! .
Sick sense of humour, but I did have a good laugh.
You can't be serious, I can't believe someone put that there. I am going to have to find one myself. Have you looked around Uluru, I wonder what is there. Maybe a broken down combi on the Stuart Highway too?

Oh boy!
I had to Googled your location and zoomed it to the maximum, and move the cursor all around to find it
Interesting location.
Now there is no doubt Orbx definitely has worldwide presence
Merry Christmas!
Cheers

I am not sure if Seanmo really lives there, but wasn't it something to do with Kiribati being the first place to see the new day that people moved their VPN to Kiribati to get the MSFS release first?
