How are you Ken? Just saw this and had to do a little fist pump. Yes!!!

We have been flying the Caribou around the PNG Mountains in the past weeks having a blast finding all the little strips hanging off the mountain sides. We landed at AYDN and AYYW on Friday night.

Really looking forward to what you have coming

having a blast working on these strips, thanks for asking. We have a bush flight club that flies Tuesday evenings, be great to have you join us, check out Massive Simulations 32 inc on discord. look forward to seeing you there

    cheers mate

Any news on why this excellent airport from Ken still isn’t on Xbox marketplace? It came out for pc ages ago and is on marketplace but only for PC.

Ken’s other great airport nearby (St Helen’s) came out on marketplace for Xbox straight away.

I think it's to do with the backlog, ST Helens was released under the new system where devs can beta test there own, Lonny is still waiting for the microsoft testers to approve it.

    cheers

Thanks Ken. And also: Thanks for your scenery, it will find its way on my SSDs...

Go on, at least with the Wilderness state. I´ll probably be there next March to make comparison shots

think you'll find Skellans and Lonny pretty much up to date, let me know when your down and I'll try to catch up

  4. I am flying way more than I used to, I blame this on the ONLINE COMMUNITY, I have made so many friends doing this, I joined MassiveSim32 on discord and there are so many talented interesting guys to fly with, We fly tours in GA, Tours in warbirds, Bushflying in some great scenery, DC3's Tubliners, anything an everything, you would be surprised how it opens the world up, simmers from all over the world join in and share experiences from their real world flying days, If I need help there are more than enough 1st officers or co-pilots to help out, I still enjoy doing my own thing but sharing the experience with a top notch bunch of pilots adds so much to the experience.

We get in touch through discord and everything from flight plans Flyins, tutorials, recommendations on new aircraft and add ons. Flight simming is so much more than just making a flight plan and flying that route.

Online multiplayer in MSFS is awesome , if you have'nt tried it Please give it a go, the worst you could do is make some new friends .

    cheers

I didn't know that this was possible with the map.

  6. Just to chime in here, I referenced my Orbx libs as one of the folders, I then have a freeware Scenery folder, a folder for aircraft and one for liveries. All global add ons are placed directly into my community folder, these are files that are pretty much used all the time, Rex Accuseason  for example. Before each flight I make a flight plan, I then open add on linker and open the map, there is a button to load a flight plan in that map, all scenery add ons appear as red dots, after nominating the flight plan add on linker draws a line on the map an you can now see which scenery is available along that track, I draw a box around the track and right click on one of the no blue dots, select the green button and all those sceneries will be linked to the community folder. It’s a quick easy way to only load the airports needed along your track , no need to place hundreds of sceneries in your community folder.

    hope this helps.

    cheers

Looks great Ken - looking forward to flying into Lonny with you one day soon and checking out your detailed work in 'virtual' person.

Have you heard of Massive Sim, it’s a discord channel where pilots from everywhere join online flights, all good fun, not too serious, flights range from bush flying, warbirds, scenic tours, usually pick a country and fly GA , were currently touring GB and  flying Beavers, lots of very experienced pilots to help with any tips . Saturday is usually reserved for airliners on longer flights, something for everyone. You would be very welcome.

    cheers

Great choice of airport and the quality and attention to detail looks great!

I just wish we could move away from opaque window textures (at least that seems to be the case here) at least on the important parts of the terminal and the tower, it gives the otherwise great work a dated feel to it.

you may change your mind when you see it up close, full PBR textures with natural and realistic wethering, I focus on what the pilot sees I could have done some made up interior of the tower but I didn't get access to that area, It's a flight sim, not a passenger sim or an air traffic control sim, I fly online with at least 80 pilots and not one of them was bothered with the interiors, my focus is airside and what you see when you taxi to your parking spot. Some airport terminals where they have large glass facades , like Boulder ,yes the interior is a cucial part, and I have done that, but Launceston had little to gain from that treatment, It's always a judgement call, there are plenty of big international airports being done with fantastic modelling of the internal terminal area. Lonnys character was it's beautifull old weathered buildings and if you notice the sharp airlines hangar has enough glass for 10 hangars.

    cheers

Here´s the proof, not much movement on the apron...:

Thanks for that shot, it is tempting to place a whole crowd of people to add life, we have an amazing library of scanned people, but I prefer to keep it real, the day I was driven around to take photos, there was literally no one on the apron until an aircraft taxied to the gate. I recommend FSLTL for traffic, the ai aircraft are superb and each aircraft has lots own sounds, lights and while parked workers and support vehicles appear, for me the advantage of this rather than placing a permanent static aircraft is that it becomes dynamic, never the same, FSLTL uses real time traffic from flight radar, there is a few minutes delay, but to have real live traffic gives  the airport that authenticity that’s lost when we see the same static aircraft in the same place all the time, with the same wooden people who are always in the same place. For me Dynamic feels better.

FSLTL is free, download using the Fly by wire installer, all your airports will come to life.

    cheers
