How are you all? It's been quiet in here for some time.

I'm still here. Not sure about still going strong though. Everything seems to be getting exponentially heavier with each passing year.

I have just about finished painting the house's exterior, in half-day time slots. Not much simming going on.

It is most likely that there will be substantial ‘under the hood’ improvements,

Thus, a big reason for a complete new version of MSFS…

My big wish is that the logbook records all landings and take-offs without a flight plan. Or you can plan multiple landings. So that we can plan a flight with intermediate stops at backcountry airstrips. And, also touch and goes.

    Also multi engine time etc.

    Hello,
please check that your in-game flight model is set to Modern and not set to Legacy.
If you do need to make a change, please note that it will not take effect until MSFS has been restarted.

Hi Nick, thank you, that did the trick.👍

Hi Graeme, have you changed the flight model as Nick suggested? It worked for me. As for figuring out the workings of these magic programmes 😭 I have no idea. I got left behind long ago.

Roger, PM me your email-address and I will send you the manuals.

    Cheers, Wolfgang

Thanks for the offer Wolfgang. 👍 However, I have now found it on the Just Flight website.

go to MSFS install find your community folder then look for the aircraft, in there you will find a folder called Documents, they're in there, unless you are Steam user then I don't know...

That is the problem Wayne, It is not showing up in the community folder. I could not find it anywhere. But I can still fly it. 🤔

Thank you all for your time and help.

  5. Hi all,

I have just installed the above aeroplane. All of the controls work correctly and are shown to be working on screen. However, it will not reach rotation speed. I have checked the external view and all is fine. If I yaw to altitude and start it just tumbles out of control to the ground.

I have two other aeroplanes that do the same, so I have, The BN2 and the DH86a. But, I really would like to get to the bottom of the problem.

Can anyone please help me out?

    Cheers Roger

Thanks mate. If you like out of the way bush strips, check out these in Oz. YKSC Kingsgate A/P Kangeroo Island, YCFL Cape Flattery A/P Cooktown, YZLI Lizard Island, YHKI Hicks Island all tucked away little "bushies". YTGA Tangalooma is a roughie off the coast of Queensland, all good fun. :)

Hi Don, thanks for the suggestions. I will check them out.

  7. I have never checked the flight times for accuracy Don. But I do know that it does not record all landings and takeoffs. P3D and FSX would record them all, so I think this is a backward step. Especially for simmers like me who set out to explore and test our skill by landing at any out of the way strips we come across. Sometimes it maybe four or five or even up to ten if they are close together. If it is a long strip, maybe just a touch and go. We can't even plan such a flight which will record our landings/takeoffs, they just show as waypoints.

So Don, I can quite believe your log is not recording correctly. And will check my flight times in future.

I think whoever designed the logbook feature only had tube liners or strict A to B simmers in mind, not bush explorers who test themselves by doing things that they would never have attempted in the real world..

    Hi Guys

    Thank you

Took the leap and purchased Orbx North IS scenery first. Loving it, there will always be pros and cons comparing it to NZ VLC but happy with it so far

I have considered MS2020 but with my cockpit based on the freeware Nemeth Bros MD500e updated to FSX, FSX se will be my sim of choice for the foreseeable future

My sim is set up for sling loads which is a great challenge and have firefighter x for firefighting which is also cool fun with bambi bucket attached.

I do like the look of MS2020 but it would need to be able to do in MS2020 that I can do in FSX se

Here are some shots of the simulator

    Regards

That is absolutely fantastic Rhys. I can see you will be having a great time flying it.  I sure hope that you can get to use MSFS now that it supports helicopters.

While there is a freeware NZMF, I'm awaiting a payware version. I do hope Northern Skies will make one with all new textures.

I'm afraid if Orbx makes it, they will use the textures from FSX/P3D which are nice but a little obsolete for a next gen sim.

Me too. NZMF is one of the greatest destinations to fly into. And if you get the chance to do it in the real word make sure you do it.
