That's the best news I've heard today. Next task is to convince/bribe the treasurer to allow my PC upgrade. Wish me luck!

Thanks gents and that must have been a wonderful place to visit and see all the Qantas history.
It sounds like you had a great trip and there is so much to see in the vast remoteness of the outback and it is a real eyeopener to those from more inhabited parts of the world. I had only been here for 2 years when I did a camping bus trip to Ayres Rock and it was an amazing experience.
I will try and find a photo later tonight for the next airport.
Your North American trip must have dozens Martyn???

I'm thinking FNQ (Far North Queensland). John says it's "just" in Australia. The textures are dry tropical?

Gold Coast Airport - clues are The hospital at Robina and Mount Warning just peeping on the horizon

The reflections are of the downlights in the the lounge area in Air Goast Flying school GA. We treated my son to an hour scenic flight down to Byron Bay. He's now doing a double degree Batchelor of IT and Aviation. Very proud Dad.

A good point Graeme. My eyes were immediately drawn to the cranes and also I had two occasions at Brisbane last year when I used the stairs instead of the jetways!
Just looking at Google Earth, the cranes do appear to be in the right area and also there are some trees around the loop at the end of Acacia Street which looks like a handy place to park and watch the planes!
I have actually been to that spot on Acacia St with my son. I don't remember the trees. I was also thrown off by the boarding passengers dressed in their winter woolies. Quite rare in Brisbane

Looks like I have been beaten by 4 minutes Graeme, exactly what I was going to say!
It's the trees on the left that have me doubting myself Martyn

Gerold put the challenge down. Only normally happens biannually. It's in Oz. ...... and it's normally a busy runway in the first week of March. Easy!

Good to put a face to the name Ben. Looks like an interesting summer passtime. Dankie. Alles van de beeste. (Hope that's correct, it's been quite a few years since I learnt Afrikaans at high school in Zimbabwe Rhodesia)

Thanks Sammy, that's a great career story of which many of us will be jealous. Thanks for the photos mate - every time someone takes the trouble to post their story I think to myself - I must get my butt into gear and do the same. My real aviation experience however is virtually nil. Thanks again and stay active on the forum

Thanks for taking the time to reveal the real you Martin. Now we can stop wondering.

Welcome Stephan, thanks for your introduction - you live in a beautiful part of our world. I bet you're looking forward to the Orbx treatment of Europe. Enjoy your two wheeled alternative to simming your wife should get into simming also!

Nice one Dave. Like father like son! You must be loving the England release. Happy flying mate.

Welcome Chris, like yourself I am a relative newbie to this great forum, be careful it's very addictive! Hope your good wife is as understanding as mine. I try and get her interested but she would rather watch trashy TV which is FLYING TIME for me. Happy OrbxingHello All

This looks amazing! Having transited through there many times it’s even more relevant to me.
Personally I’m loving the convenience of partners joining Orbx Direct and a one stop shop.
