Monument Valley Floating Mountains again

Recommended Posts

I have read through and even copied the 'MV9_Objectflow.xml' file from the previous posting on the problem of floating terrain at Monument Valley I still have the problem with my recent purchase of the scenery.

The included screen shots show some of the problem. The first shows one of the main Buttes floating and the second is from just a bit closer when the floating large Butte becomes normal.  this is the only Butte to become normal when approached more closely.  There are some other mountains to the right of the screen shots that exhibit the same anomaly but remain floating all the time.

Additionally I noticed that almost all signage on posts and not on storefronts in the 'built up' areas of the scenery the text is reversed.  Any solution for this problem.

rt,

first question is:

do you also have the Utah Complete Scenery by Fly Away Simulations installed?

If you do open the Scenery sub-folder in that scenery and find the file named:

cvxLAKEPOWELL.BGL

Add .OFF to the file name (cvxLAKEPOWELL.BGL.OFF) that will eliminate the floating buttes in the Monument Valley scenery.

Answer was from another post on the subject that fixed my problem, link is:

I apologize for the lack of detail… First off the only professional large area scenery packages I have installed and activated are those listed below from ORBX, the rest are no where near the area and are isolated homemade scenery packs for airports/airbases and some handmade photo real ranges no other professional packages:

Order Number: FSS0416007

Global BASE

Global VECTOR

Global openLC North America Alaska Canada

NA Monument Valley

Trees HD

I am also running the following settings under the following FSX display tabs:

[GRAPHICS]

1.       Frames locked to 30fps

2.       Screen resolution: 1920x1080x32

3.       Filtering: Anisotropic with anti-aliasing

4.       Global Texture Resolution: MAX

5.       I have LENS FLARE and ADVANCED ANIMATIONS checked, I do not use directx 10 due to problems with some of my aircraft textures not working.

[AIRCRAFT]

1.    Global Settings: Medium High

2.    I also checked aircraft cast shadows on ground and landing lights illuminate ground

[sCENERY]

1.    All sliders with exception of WATER EFFECTS are set to maximum, Water Effects is set to Low 2.x

2.    Lastly for this segment, I DO NOT have GROUND SCENERY SHADOWS checked.

[WEATHER]

1.    Cloud draw distance set to 90MI with natural thermal visualization.

2.    Cloud details set to detailed and slider set to maximum detail.

[TRAFFIC]

1.    NO airborne / aircraft traffic.

2.    Airport vehicle density set to Medium.

3.    Land and Sea traffic set from left to right 14% 12% 12% respective…

In regards to my problem with the monument valley scenery, I have generate and linked a series of images of that I am seeing. I do not appear to have a problem with the ground scenery such as cars, roads buildings etc, just the monument mountains floating or not coming to shape properly…. i.e. just blurred… The links as follows:

Thank you for those information. Did you read Spud's topic where the issue is resolved ? Next time, open your own one to make it easier.

Anyway, some points to check:

1 - did you download and install USMC patch 1.10 ?

2 - did you also install latest ORBXlibs ?

3 - as you have Vector, did you run autoconfiguration into the Configuration tool ? UT25 should be displayed into the disabled airports list for Vector ("AEC is disabled for") like below:

UT25_diable.jpg

4 - into FTX Central V2, go to Settings/Tools/Library Insertion Point and set the FTX entry (orange) over OLC (bleu) as follow:

Insertion_point.jpg

Doing that, you will have all your FTX entries above OpenLanclass' ones

Last point: mesh for ORBX products should be set to 5m

Sorry for posting on this thread, I didn’t readily see the other thread from Spud so I thought for sake of future customers it would be prudent to keep my problem with someone that had the same, I apologize.

I reviewed and double checked response here and I also visited the other thread you indicated, long story short for everyone here and for your staff, I found the below listed file that was mentioned in the other Spud thread and when I disabled it, that cured my problem. I happened to found the below file in a Hill AFB freeware scenery pack I have been using for sometime...

I thank all of you for your patience and time in helping me resolve this problem, I am impressed with not only your product but also your staff, this subject may be closed at your discretion...
