drwalker
I am running Win 7 64 bit beta on a Gigabyte x48 mobo with a realtek on-board high def sound chip. 9800GX2 GPU, 4 G DDR3 ram, core 2 quad 9550. It was running FSX?FTX beautifully. I did an update to Kapersky which required a reboot, and after the reboot the machine would blue-screen about a second after getting to the log in screen. Long story short - full re-install. As far as I recall, I have done an identical re-install to the one I had before. I have downloaded the latest realtek driver (vista 64 bit) from the Gigabyte web site. For some reason now, the sound in FSX is awful. There is a loud scratchy noise in the background - like static on an old radio. Sound outside of FSX is normal with music, video etc. Has anyone heard anything like this in FSX? Wolter van der Spoel
Could you post a copy of your Sound section of the fsX.cfg like this : [sOUND] AmbientUIMusicVolume=-6.000000 SOUND_FADER1=0.350000 SOUND_FADER2=0.500000 SOUND_FADER3=0.500000 SOUND_FADER4=0.500000 AmbientUIMusic=FSX01 PrimaryDevice={BD6DD71A-3DEB-11D1-B171-00C04FC20004} VoiceDevice={BD6DD71A-3DEB-11D1-B171-00C04FC20004} SOUND=1 SOUND_QUALITY=2 SOUND_LOD=0 UISound=0 AmbientUI=0 I ask this as you have to assign the soundcard part of your mobo to fsX, probably now it is set to windows default instead
