CharlesB
Hello, I am experiencing difficulties with the installation of FTX Global. I have had an exchange of messages with Wolter van der Spoel about my problem but no reaction since one week. When I install FTX Global and ORBXLIBS, FTX Global is not reported in FTX Central and ther is only the default tab shown. THere is also no uninstall program. Here is the content of my last post in "FTX Central (P3D) doesn't load: Wolter, I have deleted all files from Orbx folder and reinstalled FTX Global. The result is C:\FSX\ORBX\Scipts\FTXGlobal\Backup with 424 files and 3 empty folders. Is this correct before I go any further. Some user reports that he has also custom_gb_base and custom_gb_hybrid folders. Thank you in advance for your help Regards, Charles #343759 - FTX: Global openLC Europe#343759 - FTX: Global VECTOR#343759 - FTX: Global BASE Quote MultiQuote #19 CharlesB Newbie 7 posts LocationSwitzerland Order #:343759 Posted 05 January 2015 - 06:19 PM Addendum to my last message, with ORBXLIBS_141228 I get more folders: Aero, Custom.au, Custom.eu, custom_gb_base, custom_gb_hybrid, FTX Global, FTX Central, Lights, and 11 filess, all in Scipts folder plus FTX_AU containing FTXAA_ORBXLIBS. This seems better. Is it correct as FTX Central does not report the installation of FTX Global? Wolter van der Spoel
Seems your post fell under the radar, sorry about that FTX Global does replace the textures, as such you will not see any notice, after every FTX title install you should run the latest ORBX library files just deleting the main ORBX folder won't do it, you also will need to clear the registry entries, best use CCleaner freeware does it job quite well then re-install
CharlesB
Wolter, I have reinstalled after CCleaner. FTX Central reports now FTX Global. I have executed ORBXLIBS_141228, installed ok. FTX Central reports FTX Global and FTX AA ORBX LIBRARIES 141228, ok. I then run as administrator FTX Vector and at the end I get message: this program might have not installed correctly, FTX Central does NOT show FTX Vector and if I try to reinstall Vector, install program terminates after file verification. What should I do? Charles
Wolter van der Spoel
Hi Charles, that is odd indeed, which version of Vector are you trying to install ? in case of you can always download the latest version from your FlightSimStore account free of charge Also make sure that: you have Administrator rights User Account Control is disabled exclude your fsX folder from continuous scanning by the Anti Virus program best is to disable the AV program when installing software after each install run fsX to check if the scenery installed properly, this also to build/re-Build the needed Data Bases within fsX in case of we can have a chat on skype => ph-wvds
CharlesB
Wolter, I have installed a new SSD dedicated to FSX and everything is OK. Thank you very much for your help. You can close this topic. Best regards, Charles PS: The installation programs could give an indication when there is not enough disk space for the installation!
