You can darken your inland waters if you use REX for textures

Which particular water textures do Orbx use in their screenshots (e.g Norway)....I can't seem to get them to be as good. I have Rex and Active Sky.

ORBX puts custom water textures in their regions so changing REX will not alter them. There are tools to change things other than the textures themselves. For example with FSWC for DX9 and Steve's Fixer for DX10 you can alter how water interacts with light which can make dramatic differences. You could also manually swap textures into the appropriate folders in your ORBX directory but at least in North America the ORBX water textures seem to be darker than anything but the darkest REX textures.

Actually that's reassuring and something less to have to tinker with. I guess it all has a lot to do with light / weather and time of day.
