fly2012
I'm looking for a list of airports that are big enough for my Airbus A321. I'm not from the states but love to fly there. I have all the sceneries but it's always a lot of work for me to find places for this bird. Of course i know all the big Cities, but there are so many medium sized airports out there i would like to visit, and as part of the planing i have to know them in advance. Is it possible to get such a thing for the OrbX regions?
Alex Goff
An A321 needs 5,600ft of runway distance, so there are quite a few airports that could handle it. Here's a quick rundown of the payware and freeware airports: PAKT Ketchikan - 7,500ft KJAC Jackson Hole - 6,300ft KWYS West Yellowstone - 8,400ft PAJN Juneau Intl. - 8,857ft KBZN Bozeman Intl. - 8,994ft PAEN Kenai Mun. - 7,830ft KRDD Redding Mun. - 7,003ft PAGS Gustavus - 6,721ft. PAYA Yakutat - 7,745ft. A little on the iffy side, but if not using max takeoff or landing weight... KHQM Bowerman - 5,000ft I'll have to think up some way of listing out all the airports in a region with a runway longer than 5,600ft. The KML files for North America all contain runway data, it's just a matter of making a list.
Wolf2grey
KHQM Bowerman is okay with A321 or 737. I'm sure most would not land in there with those aircraft but we have no problem stopping the 737 with plenty of runway left. The list of the long runways on payware ORBX would be nice.
