Why do airports like Booners Ferry , Kors and 3W5 have a nice smooth motion while 74S AND S43 dont , with the same display settings and contol panel settings Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Matt McGee Posted February 20, 2014 Share Posted February 20, 2014 I believe the stutters are basically an indication of high demand on your PC from all the things that FSX is trying to draw and keep track of. Both the amount of detail and features the airport has, and the amount of detail and AI in the surrounding area, combine to create an overall level of performance demand. A smaller/simpler airport in a dense urban area vs. a larger airport in the country may have comparable performance. Simple airport & rural will be better, complex & urban will be worse. The Puget Sound is notoriously hard on FSX. There are a lot of airports (and AI traffic), lots of water (boat traffic), autogen buildings, roads and bridges with all the urban area. So FSX is already working relatively hard before you add an Orbx airport. 74S and S43 also both have a fair amount of "extra" stuff besides the airfields. (Deception pass bridge, refineries, hospital, marinas, moving trains, scenery along the river....) They are also close to KBVS and W16 (if you have them) so FSX may have even more detail depending on your radius of scenery draw.
