CathyH
I need one that will save to a location that I define. Vista won't let me in to my pictures, so I need to save to a non default directory cathy

Lost in Isaan
Shift PrtScn will create a bit-mapped copy of your entire screen. You can paste it into MS Paint or the like and save it anywhere you want.
Russ White
FRAPS will do the job, but for your information "my pictures" is a Win XP user folder, in vista the folder is called just "pictures". "my pictures" still exists in vista but as a hidden system file to provide backward compatability for programs that look for that folder name, it will not allow you access! so maybe thats the problem you are facing. Depending on your start menu configuration you will be able to access the pictures folder from the start menu, failing that, you can navigate to the pictures folder using windows explorer ("computer" from start menu) There should be no account access restrictions on the pictures folder, but it wont harm just to check....make sure you are listed as an administrator in your windows profile, and turn off UAC (User Account Control) in control panel. Hope that helps Russ.
maxter
Try mGrab, you can customise your storage directory and it also creates thumbnails for you to preview... Cheers
