I have busy installing and flying around FTX Ireland but after installing it, I had one big issue which was due to a conflict with other addons. The reason I mention this is that you haven't said what other addons you have for England / Europe - perhaps there may be some conflict with one of these? I've tried this but no joy! scianoir Posted January 9, 2014 Share Posted January 9, 2014 Hi again Jonathan, I actually hadn't flown FTX Ireland in winter until now, but I did so today to see if I had any similar problems to what you are seeing in England and everything seems good, with roads, towns, rural areas etc in Ireland all looking great in the snow. With regard to the other addons you mentioned, FSGenesis which is a mesh product should not cause that appearance so I am not surprised that uninstalling it made no difference. I would have thought the UK2000 airports also should not affect the overall appearance of FTX England away from these airports (although, having said that, the Eiresim Dublin and Cork airport addons caused me major problems with a massive overgrowth of trees over much of FTX Ireland far removed from the airports themselves, so you just never know and it might be worth deactivating them to see if things change). I do not have REX installed in FSX and I don't think it alters the ground textures (just sky and water, although I might be completely wrong in that assumption - perhaps someone with knowledge of REX could advise?) but it might be worth deactivating that too and check if that makes any difference. The problem looks like it's simply caused by your hardware being unable to keep up with your FSX settings. There's plenty of guides around on how to set up FSX but firstly make sure in your FSX settings; on the graphics tab, make sure this is set to Global Texture Resolution = Very High; on the scenery tab, make sure Texture Resolution = 7cm. Then set things like AI, cloud draw distance, autogen and water to the minimum and load up a flight with the clear weather theme. See how that looks. Sorry to bring an old topic back to life, been away from FSX a while and looking back into this! Looks like this maybe the case! I have tried the following but doesnt seem to work also Add this entry, just below the [MAIN] section in FSX.CFG FIBER_FRAME_TIME_FRACTION=0.33 I followed the manual that come with the download when i got it. It worked for a while but then started to fly it came back! FSX needs much calculation so you should have at least 3Ghz or a quad core. 2 - Radeon HD 6450 is a low end graphic card. Even if it has 1GB memory, its GPU is only good for videos or web apps.
