caribou
Hi - I realize this may be a foolish question, but here goes---- I have to reinstall FSX due to corruption caused by Windows Update, when it applied Windows 7 SP1 to my 64 bit system. FSX will not start and the registry fix didn't help. I checked other forums and other people had the same problem with exactly the same result. My question is: Do I have to uninstall FTX as well or can I save the ORBX folder and use it in the new install of FSX? I tried FXcentral and it does work. Also, does FTX add or change anything in the registry? I read your guide to uninstalling and it basically says to remove the ORBX folder and do some other things as well - nothing was mentioned about the registry. Thanks Howard
Wolter van der Spoel
Howard, you shouldn't need to uninstall the FTX titles, but maybe a fresh install of it all would make things easier for you, also take into account that FTX is designed with fsX patched up to SP2 or Acceleration with only SP1 you could run into issues
caribou
Howard, .........with only SP1 you could run into issues Thanks for the reply Wolter. My FSX is updated with Acceleration and FSX SP2. The SP1 I'm refering to in my post is the Windows 7 SP1 update. Have a good day..... Wolter van der Spoel
Hi Howard, me again, with fsX you have to install SP1+SP2 or Acceleration, if you installed SP2 after you installed Acceleration it is very likely that things are screwed up. and a nice day to you as well
