Hotspot
Not being in the market (at the moment) for a new card, I still can't help reading reviews and wondering if I shouldn't have spent my dollar elsewhere - (it's a bit like always having to pause to watch an aeroplane land). The January 2009 edition of Aussie mag 'Atomic' includes the subject of this post in it's review of a particular brand 4870X2 which got so hot on their test that it melted a SATA cable which got too close - and it was a 'steal' at only 899 AUD. Anyone thinking of buying a card may profit from reading the review.
triton
I've got a 4870X2, it gets hot but not that hot. The think is almost clad in metal. Still it must be true cause they're printing it apparently
Jay Kae
I've got 2 x 4870x2's and even though they run hotter than 'normal' cards my cooling system is more than sufficient to keep it all cool enough to not have any problems at all
Hotspot
it's review of a particular brand 4870X2 Obviously Triton and JaeKay bought the right brand, gotta admit though, the review quoted is the first I've seen to knock a 4870X2
