Could be related to the scenery lib rebuild I triggered after reporting this (see the Queenstown runway thread in the payware support forum). What I was seeing earlier was a normal runway poly with random patches of PR runway appearing on it... I thought it was deliberate, to give the effect of differing types/ages of bitumen. I now can't reproduce that effect, so chalk it up to transient weirdness, I guess. Apologies for raising two non-issues in the space of a few minutes!
