freddy
AI GA aircraft landing on runway 16 at Wellington in NZ (NZWN) are unable to taxi to the GA ramp. They turn off the runway, to the left, at exit W1 and correctly sit at the HOLD SHORT node. After contacting ATC and receiving their assigned parking spot, they DISAPPEAR (*poof*) in to thin air. AI GA planes landing on runway 34 (opposite direction) are able to turn off at exit W2 and taxi to parking spots. So no problem for the GA planes landing from that direction. The problem is only for planes landing on runway 16 and trying to use exit W1. Also note that the taxi way designation appears to be incorrect. It is designated M4 in the AFCAD, but should be designated W1. Similarly, other taxiways also are designated incorrectly in the AFCAD. For example, M5 instead of W2. The taxiway signs are correct, but the designators in the AFCAD are not. It can be mighty confusing trying to taxi according to ATC's instructions to use taxiways M4 and M5, but not "finding" them at the airport as you taxi using the taxiway signage. W1 and W2 have been renamed to M4 and M5 along with a list of other changes. You can see the correct numbering system on the NZ AIP website where you can view all the NZ plates. You refer to taxing left onto W1 after landing on 16, this should be right onto W1 (Now M4). Cheers Glenn
freddy
Correct. I should have said RIGHT on to W1. Ahh, so the taxiway designations have changed. I'll check the charts ... (goes off to check the charts) ... ah yes, also correct. I can see from the charts that it is indeed M4 and M5. So it is the TAXI SIGNS that are incorrect here at Wellington. I'm hoping ORBX revisit this post to acknowledge they've noted that, or at least do already realise that and their intention is to correctly change the taxi signs in the apparent forthcoming patch or Service Pack. Cheers Glenn. Thanks.
