mikee
Hello guys, i am thinking of changing my i7-2600(3.4ghz) to i7-2600k so i can overclock it, (as far as i know the i7-2600 cannot be overclocked). According to my pc specifications and cooler is this possible?
mjrhealth
Th K version has an unlocked multiplier, so to up the frequency you just need to change the multiplier adjust the CPU V and test. The other can be, but its more fiddly as you need to oveclock the FSB which means every thing overcloks and it harder to get similar speeds. Just do a search for overclocking the 2600 you will find plenty of overclocking sites out there.

Bandit
Yes - according to the CPU support list on the ASUS web site for your motherboard (See http://www.asus.com/Motherboards/Intel_Socket_1155/P8P67_DELUXE/#CPUS) it will take a i7 2600K with BIOS revision 0804
