BennyHill Posted June 30, 2012 Share Posted June 30, 2012 Its just been announced that a start has been made on a new township of 2500 homes to be built over the Cooranbong airstrip. The development is said to be worth $AU1 billion. Cooranbong is home to the Seventh-Day Adventist Avondale College, who used the airstrip for their School of Aviation. The school was sold in 2009 to the Illawarra Technology Corporation (ITC), the largest subsidiary and the commercial arm of the University of Wollongong and the flying operations moved to Cessnock airport.
