Gurdy
About 2 weeks ago as part of my renovations to my PC I upgraded from 2GB to 4GB of memory. I am running Vista32, but the extra 1.5 GB actually get works a treat. (Vista 64 is a future buy.) For the first time in a long time I started getting OOM errors in FSX (always flying in and out of YMML, sometimes flying in other regions), with a pop up telling me to reduce my scenery complexity or traffic etc. I was confused why this would occur with more memory not less. Anyway a bit of searching on the web and I came across this thread. This can apply to 32bit and 64 bit OS. I need further playing time, but my OOM errors seem to have gone when doing a flight in a Wilco Feelthere A318 from YMML to YMLT http://forums.avsim.net/dcboard.php?az=show_mesg&forum=121&topic_id=399256&mesg_id=399256&listing_type=search In my situation FSX.exe was already configured to use greater than 2GB of memory (a hotfix i used some time ago.), but Vista had not been tweaked to allow for applications to use more memory..... Explained here ...http://blogs.msdn.com/ptaylor/archive/2007/06/15/fsx-and-win32-process-address-space.aspx If people are already aware of this fix... then thanks for putting up with my drivel
