FTX AI Traffic Control Panel renames the FSX Default traffic file from trafficAircraft.bgl to trafficAircraft.bgl.DISABLED-FOR-FTX-AI when the that option is deselected. If you have more than one Traffic Pack installed, you will find that each uses a similar file name changing process but with a different file name to disable the FSX default traffic. The FTX Control Panel option will only work if one of the two file names above are used.

The solution to this issue is to just use one AI program to control your Default FSX AI traffic, ie. UT2, MyTraffic X, FTX AU Traffic etc. so the files remain in sinc for that particular program. Alternatively, if the file has been renamed for another reason, then you can rectify this be manually restoring the file to it's original name. To do this, go to your Microsoft Flight Simulator X\Scenery\World\Scenery folder and find the default Traffic file. The file is 22,615KB in size so should be easy to locate. Change the name back to trafficAircraft.bgl and your FTX AI Control Panel should then work.

If for some reason your default traffic file is missing altogether, you should be able to reload it from your Microsoft FSX disc.

There are no airports included with the FTX Australia Regions but there are a few freeware ones available from the main FTX, Freeware page.
