JemJam
I'm a Canberran who is an FSX and FTX newbie. Bought YSCB last week, beautiful. Can't wait for the promised Canberra scenery. I've also installed FTX AI traffic. Found the same problem others have reported - some of the AI aircraft are white with no livery. Other threads mention switching off 'preview dx10'. I've tried that and hit a problem. I've got three Carenado aircraft installed and fly them all the time. When I switch off 'preview dx10' the virtual cockpit in the Carenado aircraft disappears. Screen is just grey. Does this mean I can't get rid of the white aircraft problem? My rig is a Toshiba notebook with an i7 2630 (2Gig), 4 gig of ram and an nvidia Geforce GT 540M (1Gig). I use windows 7 64-bit.
Wolter van der Spoel
if the AI appears all white then make sure that the "DX10 preview mode" is unticked fwiw fsX is a DX9 based program, as for the grey textures it probably has to do with loading times also if you have installed your fsX on a HDD make sure the lot is defragged
Ian Routley
AFAIK there are no addon aircraft that are 'DX10 only' Try a reboot after switching DX10 mode ... else something is screwy with your install. Which Carenado craft do you have? Have you asked on their forums? Sounds very odd. (Almost everyone here has several Carenado's in the virtual hangar, and no DX9 problems at all)
JemJam
Thanks Ian. I rebooted as suggested and now vr cockpit view works and I see all AI aircraft fully painted.
