Dexter Dog
This question is from an aviator wannabe like myself! For a strip like YPMQ, taking off on 03 (or just landed on 21), do you taxi along the strip (stopping other aircraft) or taxi in the dirt off to one side? I think looking at an AI DH-8 yesterday waiting for me (on my landing on 03), he taxied down the strip. Any rules? Depends on the field?
grumman
Unless it's a designated taxiway, you wouldn't taxi "in the dirt". You do a 180 on the runway and call "backtracking runway xx" on the CTAF frequency. Taxiways are marked on the aerodrome charts in ERSA available online here: www.airservices.gov.au/publications/aip.asp Greg
