mikesmoker
I was wondering what might be up (no pun intended) with this? Any ideas and what I can do about it?
Jethro VH-JET
Hey mikesmoker, Not a question I can answer: sorry! maybe the Orbx DEVS could help. I'm not altogether certain that these APs aren't OZx_NA they do look mostly generic with a few hints of re-modeling. Airport in question is: Quillayute (KUIL) - Static c182 levitating. Yes I have that too but you got in before me I was going to put up a pic of nearly the same thing. I have experimented with lower mesh but the result is the same. Have you also seen the windsock in the middle of the runway at: Forks (S18) Windsock Mid Runway Cheers Jethro
Timmy74
Me too with Forks (S18) Windsock mid runway......? Thanks for reminding me Jethro. I ment to post that one the other week. Timmy....
Neil Hill
Nice finds guys, The levitating issue at KUIL was fixed a while ago but the misplaced windsock at S18 is a new find. It's fixed now and will show up at the next Service Pack. It is gratifying to see folks are using these not so known airports, but sorry about the opp's' Cheers, Neil (the PNW airport guy)

It is gratifying to see folks are using these not so known airports, but sorry about the opp's' Cheers, Neil (the PNW airport guy) Thanks Neil, Thats the beauty of the whole Orbx OZx experience you fly over all kinds of terrain low and slow and see a patch of dirt, grass, concrete, or even a twinkle of light, and the irresistable urge takes hold "I just gotta land there" until KHQM came along I had not spent much time in this area, but now pass over it more often. I don't want to steal (mikesmokers) thunder here, but both of us seem to still have the levetating Static aircraft at (KUIL) I must have missed the patch/Fix for this. Would it be possible to put a (Fix file) here for those of us who may have missed it. Or Should we wait for the this fix and the one for the windsock in the next SP Cheers Jethro
mikesmoker
I will check for the patch that fixes this but like Jethro I thought I had the latest patch. But hey, don't think I am complaining. About the only places I fly low and slow which is the majority of my flights is ORBX scenery. I haven't noticed the wind sock. I will check it out. Hmmm, I winder if it will cause a crash if I run it over? Can't wait till Northern CA is out.
mikesmoker
I reinstalled PNW, made sure North America was checked, redownloaded the PNW patch and installed it then redownloaded ORBXlib and reinstalled and with each opened FSX. Still there. Is there a patch I am not seeing?

Neil Hill
Hi guy's No it's not in the last SP, it was noted after I provided inputs. Cheers, Neil
Jethro VH-JET
Hi Neil, Thankyou for taking another look at the floating plane at (KUIL), after reading the 2 posts (links below) about this in the payware support forum back in August 2011 noticed that the patch was slated for PNW SP4 but could not be implemented because of config conflicts, would it have been implemented in the (PNW SP4a) (Below are a few quotes from the August posts) Would this thread also be best re-located to the Payware Support section if there are any ammendments in future SPs Posted 05 August 2011 - 12:57 PM Thanks Fltsimguy, I never thought about letting people know the file name but I certainly could. I'd love just to attach the corrected file but in this case that file contains some add'l changes for the area that were part of PNW SP4 which would be a problem for those who hadn't installed it. How much trouble was it to find the right file? It was in the NW quadrant of the old EmmaX area where I started my working with ORBX, hence the name. Cheers, Neil Posted 04 August 2011 - 09:21 AM Hi Bill, Your computers fine. Thanks for spotting this little anomaly, it truly has been floating for the past couple of years (since PNW was released). Thanks to your report it is now "grounded". When we do another SP it will be included. Again, thanks for spotting this. Cheers, Neil (the PNW, PFJ, NRM, etc airport guy) Posted 05 August 2011 - 12:26 PM Interesting that I did a couple of touch and goes at this apt and never noticed it. If you don't want to wait until the patch comes out to fix, and you have Instant Scenery or similar...just go to Flight Simulation 10\ORBX\FTX_NA\FTX_NA_NRM05_SCENERY\Scenery FILE: FTX_PNW_objects_EmmaX_NW_Quadrant_PLC.bgl Select the plane object and lower it to 0.00 elevation like I just did. The patch will likely replace this bgl when it comes out and overwrite it so the result will be the same in the end. http://www.orbxsyste...__fromsearch__1 http://www.orbxsyste...__fromsearch__1 Cheers Jethro
mikesmoker
I believe I will wait for the patch as computers are still mainly greek to me and I have no idea what you just said above. I am 50 years old and my first PC was about 8 years ago of which I hardly ever used. It wasn't until I got into FS less than a year ago that I even knew what file, folder and program was all about . Just spent most of my time outdoors.
Jethro VH-JET
Hi mikesmoker, Copy that, its only a floating static object after all, not that it impacts greatly on the enjoyment we get out of the overall PNW experience. I'm sure Neil could make the elevation adjustment for this one object in the next service pack, but for those who have the skills and the (Instant Scenery program) posted by (flightsimguy) could possibly make the small correction themselves. As I have no experience in creating scenery I will also have to wait for Neil to make this correction available. There is also the fact that the scenery should only be messd with by its creator, they know what elements went into it and the time devoteted to blending it with the surrounding terrain. Cheers Jethro
