Here are shots from a sky I've been working on. I landed at Diamond point and then took off again

and toured the area around KBLI and CZBB and east to the edge of the mountains and then went back

to land at KBLI.

at 2WA1 - Diamond Point - late afternoon

Nice set of shots Dave. The facility you were wondering about is the Laser Interferometer Gravitational-Wave Observatory, or LIGO for short. It is one of 2 such facilities, this one at the Hanford site, the other is in Louisiana. There is a good article on Wikipedia about what they do: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/LIGO. I thought it was great that they decided to put in a photoreal for the Hanford area, the scenery wouldn't have been the same without it.

Ok...sorry Ive been gone so long...

Al...thanks. CRM is incredibly cool. I saw that thing (and theres another that looks like it nearby I think) and thought it might be a particle accelerator of some kind.

dontworry-

"a sky I've been working on"...yes..its my own sky texture. I think its my best one so far. Ive now got a really good daytime and a bunch of sunsets.

If I can get a handle on creating a good looking set of dawn textures, then I'll be able to share this as a complete package.

I need more time though.

very glad everyone likes it. very very glad indeed. :)
