Matthew Kane
Marks the end of an era....However I see it as a great thing for NASA. The Space Shuttle was a very expensive program and with that money now out of the budget that frees up a lot of money to be used in other areas like: -$923 million increase (638% increase) in robotics -$1.2 billion increase (113% increase) in new space technologies -$1.7 billion increase (11% increase) in planetary Science -$2.1 billion increase (220% increase) in exploration technology -$2.7 billion increase (27% increase) in climate science That is a lot of money freed up to be used in other new initiatives, and to be honest the Shuttle was a hugely expensive machine that only took us a very short distance into space...it is time to go much further.
