Bill Womack
I think Cushman's long enough, but Bear Gulch would probably be a suicide mission. The runway at KCMW is 3000' (914 meters) long, which should be enough to get you airborne.

Tim Crowell
Bear Gulch would probably be a suicide mission. It's do-able. I wouldn't reccomend it though

Martin
Flying the Lancair out of Cushman is no problem, I reduce fuel to 40%, one passenger, and 4 clicks on the flap and use a short field take off procedure. Now landing at Cushman is another story, your approach set up has to be right on, full flaps 85-90 knts over the numbers and some serious braking as soon as the wheels touch down Cheers Martin P.S. The turbine duke will get you in and out of Bear Gulch but is also a good challege
5055100597
The piston duke allows you to get the best view of how clean those orange balls are at the runway's end. Whetehr or not your engine fails in teh piston duke before or after V1, I'm still taking off, I can't stop in tiem once I'm at about 75 knots, there isn't enough runway.
