I am not a qualified IT Tech, but I have spent enough years repairing, fault finding, building and maintining Computers within my community to think this might be the start of something new in GPU Processors. I have just bought one of these units to install in my new system to eventually get to fly in FSX, and install all the Software I have been buying.

Well, there's no denying it's a massive chip with fantastic performance. But it also needs a lot of power and runs hot. The ATI 4780 may be a bit slower but it uses a lot less power too, and you can't go past the performance/$. There's also a rumor that nVidia aren't done for the year and there may be yet another nVidia chip out before Xmas. So I'm going to hang off a while yet before abandoning my 8800GT. I'll try and work a new Nehalem into the upgrade, as that's where the real speed increases will come from.

Cheers,

Noel.
