Rustyflyer
Hello, With regard to high definition textures in, say for example, Orbx's nifty new Lancair, or any other FSX addon involving HD textures for that matter, is it necessary to modify the following line entry in the FSX.cfg file?: "TEXTURE_MAX_LOAD=1024" In other words, is it necessary to modify this particular entry to read "TEXTURE_MAX_LOAD=2048" for example? Thanks a bunch, Rusty
ryanbatc
No, I guess they made it to act differently than most planes. You can run the 2048 HD textures with a TML set to default.
Rustyflyer
Thanks Ryan; how are they able to get around that 1024 constraint then, as dictated by that entry in the cfg? Rusty
Tim Harris
Hello, No need to tweak TML with the Lancair fellas 2 second search of 'Lancair TML' brings up the answer: http://orbxsystems.com/forums/index.php?topic=28097.msg244540#msg244540 I must add I have not used a TML higher than 1024 for over a year, all my screenshots are done with 1024, sure there is a tiny tiny visual difference but its not worth the hassle of setting the TML all the time, REX I barely notice any difference 1024 vs 4096, running a higher TML than 1024 is also the cause of many a CTD or lockup
Rustyflyer
Thanks Tim, greatly appreciate the explanation. That linked thread indicates that a nifty process is executing the function. Thanks much! Rusty
