FSX DISPLAY CONFIG

Recommended Posts

I have a configuration of 1 server computer (panels) on a LAN to 3 client computers (full screen views), and set out below my present Graphics & Scenery settings in FSX, which gives me a fairly fluid display (over photo-scenery & ORBX enhanced), but I would always be interested in ways to do better!

OPTIONS/SETTINGS/DISPLAY/GRAPHICS

target frame rate=30

display resolution =1280x1024x32 (server=1024x768x32)

filtering=anisotropic

anti-aliasing=no

global texture resolution=very high(server=medium)

lens flare=no

light bloom=no

advanced animations=yes (server=no)

information text continuous=yes

information text single line=no

OPTIONS/SETTINGS/DISPLAY/SCENERY

terrain and water level of detail radius=large (server=medium)

terrain and water mesh complexity=80% (server=80%)

terrain and water mesh resolution=1m (server=1m)

terrain and water texture resolution=7cm (server=1m)

terrain and water water effects=none

land detail textures=yes (server=no)

scenery objects scenery complexity=very dense (server=sparse)

scenery objects autogen density=normal (server=none)

ground scenery shadows=no

scenery objects special effects detail=high

Could anybody on this forum give me usefull advice on possible improvements ...? For example filtering, anti-aliasing and target frame rate ... ?

OK no replies so far, but does anyone on the Forum at least have a view (through their experiences) on performance, related to the following:-

... anti-aliasing YES or NO?

... target frame rate UNLIMITED or 30 (for example)?

... filtering ANISOTROPIC or BILINEAR?

I would really appreciate the comments of anyone on the Forum who has a technical view on the FPS effects of these 3 parametres.
