Derek McAllan
G'day all, Sorry for the crappy pun in the title Still playing around with the REX OD settings, and have been doing a lot of flying around Tassie enjoying the marvellous countryside. Tonight I did a nice 144nm flight from Devonport YDPO and flying along the coast via the Burnie and Smithton NDB's before turning NW and crossing to King Island. The flight took place today in the late afternoon with real weather from REX. Most of the flight was pretty uneventful with mostly dull weather - a solid overcast that didn't break up until Wynard. On approach to King Island however, REX turned on it's expected sunset awesomeness - so here's the pics Today's flight plan, courtesy of PlanG Making landfall, King Island, near Grassy, flying the GPS approach to the airfield. The sun was just peeking below the layer of haze. On long final to the airfield with the sun diving for the horizon. Lined up on final and encountering a light crosswind. Nailed the landing and taxied off in time for dinner More to come soon, I'm still loving Tassie way too much! Cheers, Derek
