tanker50
Hi all: I recently purchased an FSX addon that requires Net Framework 2 to install. I tried installing it believing that Net Framework was already on my system (I use Windows (64bit)), but I got a message stating "Net Framework 2 Required." I downloaded Net Framework 2 (x64) from Microsoft, ran the installation, tried installing the FSX addon, and got the same message. I downloaded Net Framework 4.0 (64) and installed it in the hopes that this would work, but no luck. I've written the software developer, but I have not heard back. Anyone have an idea how to solve this problem? Thanks in advance. Mike Gutierrez. North Hollywood, California.
Wolter van der Spoel
Hi Mike, That sounds odd as w7 has no need to get .Net Framework 2.0 did you try and install the "software" as Administrator ?
tanker50
Thanks Wolter for getting back to me. I have full administrator rights, but I tried reinstalling Net Framework 4 as the administrator again, but no luck. The install routine still looks for net framework 2. peterhayes
Mike Have you tried the .NET framework verification tool: http://blogs.msdn.com/b/astebner/archive/2008/10/13/8999004.aspx. I confirm that windows 7 should have Microsoft .NET Framework 4 (Client Profile) installed which according to MS is backwards compatible with earlier versions of .NET FW. This seems to have replaced .NET FW 3.5.1.1 (See control Panel\Programs and Features and then click "Turn Windows features on or off". This is a repair option (last resort) for .NET FW 2 : http://blogs.msdn.com/b/astebner/archive/2007/03/26/how-to-repair-the-net-framework-2-0-and-3-0-on-windows-vista.aspx or MS http://support.microsoft.com/kb/306160/en-au. Good luck with this one .NET FW issues can be hard to solve. pH
