tennyson
Pilots Log: Jandakot, Western Australia. January 1998. It's a stifling hot day, birds circling, sweat dripping down your back. The passengers board the Ansett A320 and quickly take their seats. After what seems to be a life time, the cabin doors are shut and the engines whine into life, delivering cool, crisp air to the hot, dusty travellers. The Captain and Co-pilot go through their procedures and then head on out to the active. Turbines blazing amidst a morning haze, they lift the small passenger jet into the sky. Two minutes aloft, engine fire light comes on, the Captain goes through right engine shut-down and looks for the closest strip. Perth International, straight ahead. Straight in approach, very little traffic, luck is on their side. Pilot, crew and passengers all safe. Problem discovered by maintenance crew: Faulty fire warning light. Derek McAllan
Another great paint Frank! Can't say I ever saw Ansett fly out of Jandakot though
tennyson
It's called 'painter's license'. When a painter finishes a livery, he is allowed to fly out of any ORBX or OZx airport for a test flight, provided he can get her off the ground without a bum scrape! I'm sure I saw it in the rule book somewhere....... Frank
Derek McAllan
LOL well put mate. Yep, it'd sure be a shame to scratch that shiny new paint and put her back in the shop

JusJ
Thank you again Frank!! I wanted an aussie paint for the CFM powered bird, because I love those funky reversers. If you've still got the itch to paint the Airbus X, any chance of Skywest's beauty VH-FNP? http://www.airliners.net/photo/Skywest-Airlines/Airbus-A320-231/1728026/L/&sid=663c7065ef693864e0b3d44f6e8a670c

tennyson
Justin, I'll add her to the list. I've just finished another Ozzie paint for the A320 today. That's 3 paints in 3 days. My brush is a little burnt out, not to mention me. I'm hanging up the boots and watching the V8's for a few days, so I'll take a look at her next week, Frank
