2 x GTX 480's vs Matrox triplehead, What is best?

With 2 x 480's one can run 3 x monitors. What resolution is this capable of as the Matrox Triplehead unit can render each monitor at 3x1280x1024 (standard) or 3x1360x768 (widescreen). The benefit of 2 x 480's is 3d. With Matrox, can do the job with one card, less power consumption.

So, FPS and resolution, what is the better solution? What are your findings?

Resolution will go to 5040 (3x1680) x 1050 with DX10-11, and does that just fine. Only liiitle drawback, at 5040x1050 you may get a narrow black edge on your left screen, right edge, when you use bezel management. Easily visible when you look for it. But to me it´s hardly noticeable when flying. Wasn´t untill I read about it somewhere that I saw it. Haven´t checked firmware update in a while, they may have overcome it, idk, but it´s really no biggie...to me.

You get less power consumption and less noise with TH2G.
