brianos007
Hello guys. Everybody knows a 480gtx is crying for watercooling Yesterday i installed water cooling on my 480 GTX card. The koolance vid-nx480 cooler. Super stuff. Unbelievable OC the card stays at 54°C. So this is the solution no more noise and heat. And OCers heaven Everybody knows when the fan hits the 100% its like your rig is going to take you to hyper space Grtz
Holy Cheese
How difficult was that to install Brian? My EVGA GTX480 runs very hot (around 90°C) and I am definitely in the market for a good cooling system for it. I took a look at the installation manual for this and it looks pretty complicated, also read a couple of negative reviews about the installation. Would be very interested to hear your views as well as to know what temps your card was running at before you installed it. I have a Prolimatech Megahalem Cooler on my i7 980x CPU which really does a great job, the cpu temps are only around 40°C while running FSX, but I'm not overclocking at all yet, as I'm a bit scared as to what effect this might have on the graphics card until I get it cooled properly. Cheers Jack
brianos007
Hello Jack. Not difficult at all for me Dont rush it and take your time. Very good manual. An a lot of you tube movies on how to do it. Super Build quality. It weight is 800 grams. If i stress my card ho is OCT on water 53°C.On air he whent about 90°C Big difference almost half the temps. Grtz
Holy Cheese
Thanks Brian - sounds like it's definitely worth looking at! I was a bit hesitant about the price (167 Swiss Francs here, about 120 Euro), especially if it meant that my 10 thumbs would screw up the graphics card and mean having to buy a new one Jack

Heiko Glatthorn
Yeah, like mentioned in the sig i got the EVGA hydro - Furmark full-screen doesn't hit 60 C which is amazing. Now where is the voltage option in Precision....
brianos007
Heiko. What do you mean with voltage option In the latest Msi afterburner you can select the voltage and tweak it. If this is what you mean by voltage option Grtz
Heiko Glatthorn
Yeah that, but unfortunately Precision doesn't bother with this feature. Or did i miss it ?
brianos007
Its always good if you can tweak the voltage
gheeD
Yeah, defo get the voltage up, you can drag the MHz couple levels up I only use MSI afterburner, even if i would have EVGA GPU. MSI afterburner is just that good. + voltage tweak.
