davidgate
Do you know of any benchmarks that use FSX as a test?

peterhayes
Dave G This was the last review that I saw: http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/radeon-geforce-comparison,2007-18.html Unfortunately it doesn't cover the new Fermi GTX4xx series. JoseCFII
Even if there was a review, it probably would not give a good representation of FSX's performance. Most of us don't fly a stock FSX SP2. We fly complex airplanes into dense airports in poor weather. These sceneries require the fastest processors, best ram, SSD drives, and the best video card one can afford. Right now the best card for FSX is the GTX 480. You can buy the cheaper models and still be happy with the performance. The best way to find out about actual performance is sim forums. This community is the best source for information regarding performance with various hardware configurations.
Tailgunner
Davidgate: are you happy with your Q9650? I need more grunt, can't afford i7, and I've seen suggestions that pricewise the Q would represent good bang for buck.
davidgate
Tailgunner - yes happy with the Q9650. I bought it a few months ago on eBay for ~ $400 (ex Hong Kong). Gave me a modest boost in FSX performance but I bought it mainly for video rendering where it really fires.
