Axonos is pleased to announce they are officially working on the Mil Mi-2 helicopter for Microsoft Flight Simulator! The team is dedicated to providing a high-fidelity visual and flying experience.

The Mil Mi-2, also known as "Hoplite," is a light utility helicopter with a storied history since its first flight in 1961. With over 5,400 units built, the Mi-2 continues to be used by numerous operators around the world. In many countries, it remains a staple in roles such as search and rescue, aerial firefighting, agricultural applications, and police operations. Its continued use in both military and civilian sectors attests to its enduring legacy and dependability

Axonos aims to faithfully recreate every use case of the Mi-2 in the simulator, allowing you to engage in the full range of its operations. For instance, medical missions will feature animated and interactive medical equipment.

A high-fidelity visual & flying experience. From the labels on the landing gear to the suspension animations, we aim to simulate every single part of the aircraft, fully utilizing Microsoft Flight Simulator's new physics systems for helicopters.

The Axonos team took a trip to the airfield to experience the Mi-2 in person recently. We even took the controls for a bit!  It was great learning more about the Mi-2 from several real-life Mi-2 pilots who agreed to help us throughout the development process, ensuring an accurate rendition. Here’s a comparison between the real Mi-2’s landing gear and our model. It's a work in progress, of course.
