Using Photoshop to paint your plane

In the community screenshots forum, I noted that someone had (by the looks of it) done a repaint of the pilot's face with their own.

I asked how it could be done, and was told that there is a commercial program out that allows you to do it.

However, take a look at:

[ftp=ftp://http://developer.nvidia.com/object/photoshop_dds_plugins.html]http://developer.nvidia.com/object/photoshop_dds_plugins.html[/ftp]

These Photoshop plugins are free and allow you to open and save dds files, which are the texture files used by FSX. This makes putting your own face on the pilot image easy but also, if you wanted to do a repaint of an original texture, should quicken the job.

Hope this helps any aspiring painters...

Depends on the Model and Aircraft but yes.  As for the nVidia Plugin this works an absolute treat and cuts out a LOT of converting with other proggies which looses texture quality.

Except for my Level D B767. Wrote on their forums and got the reply their pilot piccie cannot be changed.

Any Level D B767 owners who are smarter at these things than me (which would be quite a lot of you) willing to rise to the challenge and prove that wrong?

Damn.
